Kamakhya represents the Yoni or womb of the cosmos. This is where everything originated from. In fact, Kamakhya devi is above Das Mahavidya, she is the janani or genesis of Das Mahavidyas. When Ma Sati’s body was broken into pieces, her body parts fell in different locations. Kamakhya shakti peeth is where her yoni (womb) fell.
