Sensitive period: 5-6 Hours before this peak and 2 hours after - Whether the eclipse is visible from your location or not does not affect its energetic significance. If it is not visible in your location, however, there are no Sutak restrictions.
- Take a bath or shower before the eclipse period begins, if possible.
- Ideally, avoid preparing food for 6–8 hours before the eclipse.
- If possible, fast for at least 6 hours before the eclipse.
- Avoid consuming leftover food after the eclipse.
- Before the eclipse, sprinkle Ganga jal or ashes in your kitchen and pantry, and on fruits, juices, etc.
- Spend the last few hours before the peak in meditation, mantra, sadhana, yagya or other spiritual practices as much as possible.
- Give donations or perform acts of charity.
- After the eclipse, bathe or shower and change into fresh clothes.
- Clean the prayer/meditation space and, according to your tradition, the kitchen after the eclipse.
