Each syllable is said to correspond to and activate a specific gland in the human body. This is not metaphor — the rishis understood the mantra as a precise vibrational instrument, with each sound current mapped to a physical and pranic center. When chanted correctly — with proper pronunciation, rhythm, and intention — the mantra works on the body as much as the mind.
