Oct 20: The One Day You Don’t Need an AstrologerDussehra (Vijayadashami) falls on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in both India and the US. It is one of only four ABHUJ MUHURATAS in the year. On these days the entire day is auspicious, so you don’t need to check a muhurat before beginning something important. You do not need to consult an astrologer for Timing. Watch all about this in my video about the 21 festivals. DUSSEHRA: THE DAY OF VICTORYRama defeated Ravana. Durga defeated Mahishasura after the nine nights of Navratri. That is why Vijayadashami is traditionally chosen for new beginnings: a new venture, property, a vehicle, or an agreement you’ve been putting off. Many families also perform Shastra Puja and Shami Puja on this day.
