Ketu, Ganesha, and the Ten Days Between Two Serpents

Today was Ganesha Chaturthi. It ended 1 hour ago. Ten days from now, the 14th lunar day, the same Moon reaches Ananta Chaturdashi – the day of Ananta Shesha, the infinite serpent on whom Vishnu reclines.

Let us understand what is actually happening here: the Ganesha Utsav festival opens on Ganesha Chaturthi with Ketu’s ruling deity (Ganesha’s birth) and closes with Ketu’s own manifestation, the Shesha Naag. Ganesha is the adhi-devata of Ketu in classical jyotish – the deity you approach when Ketu is unsettled, because Ganesha is the one who can command a headless, directionless force and give it a purpose. And Ketu itself is a severed serpent’s tail – the body of demon Svarbhanu after Mohini’s disc chopped off his head. Ketu has no head, no ego, no clear direction of its own but within. Just tail. Purely Ananta (limitless).

Do not waste this window of 10 days that belongs to Lord Ganesha, the lord of Astrology and the deity of Ketu.

Who this is actually for?

This window matters most if:

  • You’re in Ketu mahadasha or antardasha (check your vimshottari)
  • Ketu sits in your 1st, 5th, 8th, or 12th house in your chart – identity confusion, disrupted intelligence/children matters, sudden loss patterns, or isolation themes
  • You’ve had unexplained fears, skin or nerve issues, hidden issues, a sense of derealization, or a recurring pull toward renunciation you don’t know what to do with.
  • You keep having spiritual experiences with no framework to hold them – that’s raw, unrouted Ketu.

Chant Ganesha Gayatri – for clarity and right direction:

Om Ekadantaya Vidmahe Vakratundaya Dheemahi Tanno Danti Prachodayat

The Vakratunda shloka: for removing obstacles in our path:

Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha, Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Karyeshu Sarvada

(“O curved-trunk, mighty-bodied one, radiant as a million suns – make all my undertakings free of obstacles, always.”)
