Why 18, 36 & 54 May Be Important Ages in Your LifeHere’s a fun question: What happened in your life around age 18? Now, if you’re old enough, think about 36. Notice any similarities? In Vedic astrology, Rahu moves through the zodiac in roughly 18 years (more precisely, the lunar nodes complete their cycle in about 18.6 years). That means Rahu returns close to its birth-chart position roughly around: 18 → 36 → 54 → 72 And Rahu is all about desire, ambition, obsession and experiences we haven’t had before. Think about 18. For many of us, that’s when we first taste independence. College. Career choices. Relationships. Leaving home. A completely new identity. Then, roughly 18 years later, Rahu comes back to the same part of your chart. But now you’re a different person. So here’s today’s experiment: Look back at age 18–19 and 36–37. What did you desperately want? What new chapter began? What suddenly felt too small for you? Did a similar theme appear both times? The event may be completely different. But the desire underneath it might be surprisingly familiar. Open your birth chart. Find Rahu’s house. Then ask yourself: “What has Rahu been making me chase every 18 years?” You might go down a very interesting rabbit hole tonight. 😉
